SHARE-IT RECEIVES A PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL AWARD: THE CANADIAN ENVIRONMENT AWARD 2007

Community Environment Alliance scaled new heights after winning the silver award in the ‘Sustainable Living’ section of the 2007 Canadian Environment Awards, held at the Montreal Science Centre.

The award was presented by Jim Mather (CEO of Shell Canada), Michael Horgan (Deputy Minister of the Environment, Government of Canada) and the Chair of Canadian Geographic.

SHARE-IT IS AWARDED THE ONTARIO TRILLIUM FOUNDATION’S GREAT GRANTS CHAIR’S AWARD IN 2005. IT IS THE ONLY COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAM TO RECEIVE THIS COVETED PROVINCIAL AWARD.

CEA’s Share-IT program received the 2005 Great Grant Chair’s Award from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).

The OTF’s Great Grants Awards are a tribute to excellence. The Chair’s Award recognizes the grant that best exemplifies the building of healthy and vibrant communities that meet diverse needs. The Share-IT program was selected out of 3800 eligible grant recipients.
